Position Summary

This division is home to the following: Mathematics.
MCC instructors are higher education professionals who champion student learning. They engage and inspire students, applying innovative teaching and learning pedagogies to reach a variety of learners. They assess student learning to ensure student success, staying abreast of current and emerging trends in the discipline. They collaborate within the College as discipline experts, helping the College to reach its strategic goals through active participation in college committees and by promoting the College to future students throughout our community.

Essential Job Functions And Responsibilities

  • Teach the assigned class in accordance with the learning objectives and e-syllabus using instructional strategies to engage students
  • Develop and manage working syllabus, course materials, and assignments
  • Provide formative feedback and summative evaluation of student performance throughout the learning process which could involve being available for student conferences either before or after class, and by College email if necessary
  • Maintain and submit class syllabus, grades and attendance records, and required course related data
  • Use educational technology (i.e. course management platform such as Canvas)
  • Assess student learning and submit required reports of assessment results
  • Maintain currency in professional field

Required Qualifications

  • Course specific minimum qualifications are approved annually by the Board of Trustees and are available in all Academic Division Offices.
  • Evening availability
  • Current workplace experience in an associated field and college teaching experience are highly desired.
  • Demonstrated teaching experienced preferred
  • Commitment to the mission of the community college, and to teaching and motivating community college students in ways appropriate to their diverse backgrounds
  • Strong communication, organization, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills

Pay

Salaries are dependent upon education and semesters taught at MCC per the MCC Adjunct Faculty Agreement FY24-FY25 through FY26-FY27

Schedule

Workweek Schedule dependent upon assigned classes
