Position Overview
Wright State University is seeking an Instructor of Chemistry to develop and teach advanced chemistry labs, including quantitative analysis, instrumental analysis, and forensic chemistry. The successful candidate will also teach first-year chemistry and higher-level classes as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Ph.D. or ABD in analytical chemistry, forensic chemistry, or related field
- At least one year of teaching experience in post-secondary level
- Experience in analytical chemistry labs, forensic chemistry labs, or other advanced chemistry labs
- Ph.D. requirements completed at the start of appointment
Preferred Qualifications
- At least two years of teaching, research, or other related positions in analytical chemistry labs, forensic chemistry labs, or other advanced chemistry labs
- Experience developing analytical chemistry experiments and forensic chemistry experiments, including forensic drug analysis
- Documented pedagogical and curricular success at the college level
Essential Functions and Percent of Time
- Teaching - 85%
- Service - 15%
