About the role

The School of Art at Ball State University invites applications for part-time instructors to teach courses in Animation. Successful candidates may be hired to teach between one and three sections and we offer both online and in-person modalities. Course development support and pedagogical mentoring will be offered. All instructors are expected to communicate regularly with students, provide meaningful and timely assessments, post course information on Canvas, and submit grades and other reports on time.

Responsibilities

  • Teach between one and three undergraduate courses.
  • Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in animation, illustration, game art/design, visual effects, or a related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment OR two years of documented industry experience in animation, illustration, game design, visual effects, or a related field.
  • Preferred Qualifications: MFA degree in animation, illustration, game art/design, visual effects, or a related field from an accredited institution by time of appointment. One year of teaching experience at the college level.

Qualifications

Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.

Programs at the BA, BS, and BFA levels include art education, art history, graphic design, animation production, illustration, game art/design, visual effects, and a studio art program that includes drawing, painting, printmaking, ceramics, glass, metals + jewelry, sculpture, photography, and video and new media. School of Art students enjoy world-class facilities, with over 73,000 square feet of classroom, gallery, and studio space in the Art and Journalism Building, Applied Technology Building, and the Marilyn K. Glick Center for Glass. Students and faculty work closely with David Owsley Museum of Art on campus, among the finest university art collections in the nation.

Compensation $3000-$9000 per course
