About the role
The Department of Mathematics at Western Kentucky University (WKU) seeks to appoint a full-time, non-tenure-track Instructor I. This is a nine-month faculty role, renewable annually based on performance. The appointment begins August 10, 2026.
Core Responsibilities
- Deliver effective instruction in undergraduate mathematics courses ranging from introductory to advanced levels.
- Teach graduate-level courses if holding appropriate terminal qualifications.
- Prepare course materials, assignments, lessons, and assessments.
- Provide timely feedback, maintain office hours, and support student academic success.
- Engage in departmental, college, university, and community service activities.
Minimum Requirements
- Earned master’s degree in mathematics or a closely related discipline, with at least 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics prior to employment.
- Evidence of successful teaching experience.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with faculty colleagues.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
