About the role

The Department of Anatomy, College of Graduate Studies, invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), non-tenure-track faculty position at the rank of Instructor of Anatomy. The Department is responsible for teaching gross anatomy, histology, embryology, and neuroscience across multiple health professions programs.

Responsibilities

• Work closely with the Course Directors, the faculty, and Anatomical Laboratory Manager to successfully deliver the Anatomy Laboratory curriculum
• Teach in the laboratory portions of our gross anatomy, histology, and neuroscience courses under the supervision of the individual Course Directors
• Work with the Course Directors in all aspects of educational assessment (e.g., laboratory practical exams), including exam construction (e.g., anatomical labeling, proctoring)
• Prepare prosected specimens as needed

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. in Anatomical Sciences or a closely related field is preferred
• A master’s degree in Anatomical Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline with a minimum of 1-3 years of teaching experience is required
• Demonstrated expertise in teaching human gross anatomy using dissection-based laboratory instruction is required
• Preference will be given to candidates with additional teaching experience in histology and neuroscience, as well as evidence of scholarly activity or research productivity
• Experience with innovative educational approaches, including e-learning, digital content development, flipped classroom methodologies, and the integration of emerging technologies and artificial intelligence in education, is preferred

Software Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook is required
• Candidates should also be familiar with learning management systems such as Brightspace, Canvas, or similar educational platforms
