Instructor for Adults with Autism - Support, Inspire, Transform Lives!

About the role

As an Autism Instructor, you’ll develop program content to meet participant needs in collaboration with the Director of Adult Services and Case Manager. You’ll provide direct supervision and leadership to Instructional Assistants, oversee all work in progress, and instruct clients in developing positive work skills such as attentiveness, punctuality, accepting authority, cooperative relationships, consistent production, and appropriate behaviors. This fulfilling role makes an immediate difference in lives.

You will receive training in behavior management, communication techniques, and assistive technology to support participants effectively.

Responsibilities

• Develop program content to meet all participant needs in conjunction with the Director of Adult Services and input from the Case Manager
• Provide direct supervision and leadership to Instructional Assistants
• Supervise all work in progress
• Instruct clients in development of positive work skills, including:
  • Attentiveness on the job
  • Positive attitude and interest toward work
  • Punctuality
  • Accepting authority
  • Cooperative co-worker relationships
  • Consistent production rate
  • Appropriate behaviors

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or higher in a Human Service field (preferred)
• One year of autism experience/education (preferred)
• DSP certification (preferred)

Schedule

Monday - Friday, 7:30 am to 3:30 pm

Pay

Competitive starting pay of $22.79 - $24.34/hr – more with experience.
