About the role
Conduct practical training on welding joint preparation and fit-up activities.
Responsibilities
- Train trainees on plate fit-up, pipe joint fit-up, tack welding preparation, and alignment prior to welding.
- Teach accurate measurement, marking, cutting verification, edge preparation, root gap, bevel angle, and joint alignment.
- Ensure dimensional accuracy and compliance with approved drawings and WPS requirements before welding.
- Train trainees on the proper use of measuring instruments, hand tools, clamps, fixtures, and fit-up equipment.
- Supervise welding preparation activities to ensure readiness before welding operations.
- Monitor workshop safety, housekeeping, and proper handling of fabrication tools.
- Evaluate trainees' fit-up skills through practical assessments and performance monitoring.
- Maintain fit-up tools, equipment, and related training materials.
