Job Summary
Instructors are responsible for delivering educational materials through sound educational practices, focusing on the academic development of students. They promote an engaging, dynamic, and student-centered environment, providing support and assistance as needed. Instructors lead by example, adhering to ethical conduct aligned with Ancora Education's Mission and Core Values.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience to students.
- Ensure students have been presented with the material to successfully meet the learning objectives of each course within their program of study.
- Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready for student use, sufficient in quantity, properly maintained, and in working order.
- Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities to ensure an active, engaged, and up-to-date classroom experience for all students; maintain required certification and licensure.
- Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory bodies' guidelines, along with internal policies of the company.
Experience and Education Required
- Where required, must have an active certification or licensure.
- Non-Degree and Occupational Associate Degrees: a minimum of three (3) years’ practical work experience in the field of instruction.
- Academic Associate or Bachelor's Degree: minimum four (4) years’ practical work experience in the field of instruction and possess a related degree at least at the same level as the course being taught.
- All online faculty must have a master's degree in the content area or a master's degree with a minimum of 18 semester/24 quarter graduate credit hours in the content area; Exceptional cases: eight (8) years’ practical work experience may be substituted for practical work experience and justified by the campus.
- General Education courses: master’s degree with appropriate academic coursework and preparation in the subject area(s) taught – 18 semester hours of coursework at any credential level in the subject; Some states required 18 semester hours at the master’s level.
- Demonstration of the highest levels of integrity and professionalism in all aspects, including appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
- Strong computer software skills including Microsoft Office or Google Workspace.
- Solid written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills with demonstrated success in collaborating with diverse groups of employees and customers.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service.
- Ability to qualify as an instructor per institutional and accreditation standards.
Experience and Education Preferred
- Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.
