Instructor, Diagnostic Medical Sonography
Position Information
Shape the future of diagnostic imaging—one student, one scan at a time! Lincoln Land Community College is searching for a full-time, tenure-track, 9-month instructor to teach Diagnostic Medical Sonography courses in accordance with LLCC and JRC-DMS/CAAHEP standards. The DMS program is offered on the LLCC main campus in Springfield, IL. The position includes classroom lecture and lab instruction, and may support clinical supervision of the students in the hospital setting.
- Teach/conduct assigned classes, labs, clinicals, studio and internships.
- Create a learning environment that fosters student success.
- Develop, integrate, evaluate, and assess student learning outcomes in support of the College’s ongoing accreditation.
- Participate in developing and reviewing curricula and instructional methods and with the articulation of courses as necessary.
- Consult with advisory committee(s) if appropriate for program/curriculum.
Required Qualifications
- Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in the teaching field
- Minimum of 2 years related occupational experience as a clinical sonographer
- Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in abdominal sonography
- Current certification by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in obstetrics/gynecology sonography specialty areas OR ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, ultrasound imaging techniques, and pathophysiology
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills
Preferred Qualifications
- ARDMS or CCI vascular or adult echocardiography certification
- Experience teaching DMS content in laboratory, clinical and/or didactic settings
- Knowledge of clinical tracking systems such as Trajecsys
- Experience teaching using Canvas and/or other online learning platforms

Position Salary
Starting salary is determined by education level and experience and will be between $49,308 and $93,337.

Job Duties
