About the Role
Leads high-energy indoor cycling (Spin/Cycling) classes in both in-person and virtual formats, promoting cardiovascular health, endurance, and motivation. Designs dynamic workouts tailored to various fitness levels, incorporating music, pacing, and performance tracking.
Responsibilities
- Provides instruction to students and community members.
- Develops and presents a curriculum structured to accommodate all fitness levels.
- Sets up and cleans up before and after each class.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma (or equivalent).
- Current certifications in one of the following: Schwinn, Spinning®, ISSA Indoor Cycling, NETA, AFAA (Athletics and Fitness Association of America), or ACE (American Council on Exercise).
- Required CPR/first aid certifications.
- Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience.
- Basic knowledge of fundamental subject area concepts, practices, and procedures.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Ability to read, understand, and enforce safety procedures.
- Ability to perform an aerobic activity for the duration of the class.
- Basic proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Sensitivity to appropriately respond to the needs of the community.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in a related field.
- Demonstrated experience with community-based instruction.
- Professional presentation skills.
Physical Demands / Working Conditions
- Work may be performed in a normal, professional office environment with adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation.
- Work may involve environments with sufficient noise that may require shouting to be heard.
- Work may be partially performed outdoors without protection from weather conditions.
- Work may be partially performed in and/or around a swimming pool, requiring proficiency in swimming.
Pay
$30.30 per hour (set rate for non-bargaining part-time position).
Schedule
Hours depend on program needs; days, evenings, and weekends may be required. Flexibility is necessary.
