About the Role

Instructs and develops curriculum for courses within the Information Technology function in Tri-C’s Workforce Innovation.

Responsibilities

• Teach CISCO courses in the following subjects:
  • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP) or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) with routing and switching portion
  • Cisco Certified Voice-over IP (CCVP) or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) with voice-over IP portion
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP) or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) with routing and switching portion
  • Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP) or Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) with security portion
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes
• Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments, and handouts
• Evaluates and grades students’ class work and assignments
• Provides coaching to individual students as necessary
• Performs other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Associate’s Degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science (significant related experience may substitute for education)
• Minimum of two years of demonstrated experience in the Information Technology industry
• 3-5 years industry and/or classroom experience, teaching in their area of Cisco expertise
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Advanced communication (verbal, written, and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community
• Proven background in providing dynamic instruction with the ability to integrate industry, professional, and life experiences into a classroom learning environment in either large or small groups

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• Industry Certification in one or more of the following programs:
  • Cisco Certified Design Professional (CCDP)
  • Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE)
  • Cisco Certified Networking Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Voice-over IP (CCVP)
  • Cisco Certified Security Professional (CCSP)

Physical Demands / Working Conditions

• The work is performed in a normal, professional office environment
• The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated
• Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the duties of the job and will perform repetitive motions with hands/fingers using a computer mouse and keyboard to type
• There may be some walking, standing, bending, and carrying of light items such as papers, files, pamphlets, books, etc.
• Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the worksite

Pay

$65.00 per hour
