About the role
This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
- Teach chemistry courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
- Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
- Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
- Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox.
- Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
- Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
- Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.
- Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences.
- Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
- Work with students as academic advisor as assigned.
- Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Chemistry (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry
- Collegiate level teaching experience
- Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility
- Demonstrated commitment to student success
- Willingness to teach on multiple campuses
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes
- Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies
Pay
$41,708.00 to $52,135.00 annually, depending on experience
