Instructor, Chemistry – 9/10 Month (Term) – Clarksville Campus

About the role

This position is responsible for delivering quality instruction in chemistry.

Responsibilities

• Perform job duties from the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
• Teach chemistry courses on-ground at the assigned campus/instructional site/work location.
• Utilize the College’s learning management system to provide course materials to students.
• Submit updated department syllabi prior to the first day of class.
• Regularly check Nashville State email and departmental mailbox.
• Respond to emails/messages within 48 hours except on the weekend.
• Complete all required reports such as student engagement, Early Alerts, progress reports, grade submissions; administer and return surveys and student outcome assessments by the required deadlines.
• Engage in departmental institutional effectiveness activities.
• Set and honor scheduled office hours for student conferences.
• Submit final grades for each semester by the deadline established by the registrar.
• Work with students as academic advisor as assigned.
• Comply with all College and TBR policies and guidelines.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Chemistry (OR) Master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Chemistry
• Collegiate level teaching experience
• Demonstrated commitment to equity and accessibility
• Demonstrated commitment to student success
• Willingness to teach on multiple campuses

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge and/or experience using a variety of instructional delivery modes
• Ability to communicate effectively and work cooperatively with a diverse faculty, staff, and student population
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and relevant instructional technologies

Pay

$41,708.00 to $52,135.00 annually, depending on experience
