About the role
The Riverside County Office of Education (RCOE) is a service agency supporting the county’s 23 school districts that serve nearly 430,000 students. RCOE provides administrative support to districts, leads programs for preschool, special education, pregnant minor, corrections, migrant, and vocational students, and offers professional training, support and resources for teachers, administrators, and staff throughout Riverside County.
Job Summary
The purpose of Instructor, Aviation Occupations, is to perform under general supervision, to supervise and instruct students in assigned areas of vocational training and career development; to establish and maintain an orderly, safe, and well-disciplined classroom learning environment; and to perform other job-related duties as assigned. This program sequence will offer students the opportunity to learn the history and careers of aviation and aviation business administration before taking advanced courses. Incorporated throughout the course are career preparation standards, which include basic academic skills, communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving, safety, technology, and other employment skills.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Required Experience: Three (3) years of work experience in the technical skills, trade, or vocations to be taught are required. One (1) of the three (3) years of the required experience must be within the last five (5) years, or two (2) years within the last ten (10) years.
- Required Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree desired.
- Certificates/Credentials/Licenses: • Possession of or ability to obtain prior to employment, a valid California Designated Subjects Vocational or Career Technical Education Teaching Credential for the subject to be taught (Refer to the Commission on Teacher Credentialing pamphlet for: Career Technical Education Designated Subjects Teaching Credentials) • EL certification or equivalent such as CLAD, BCLAD, or SDAIE • Valid California Driver's License may be required
