Mathnasium of Clarksville TN is dedicated to building math confidence and helping students truly understand mathematical concepts. About the role

This is a part-time, on-site Instructor role located at Mathnasium of Clarksville TN in Clarksville, Tennessee. Instructors work directly with students in elementary, middle, and/or high school to provide guided math instruction using Mathnasium’s methods and materials.

Responsibilities

• Lead one-on-one and small-group math instruction sessions
• Explain mathematical concepts clearly and effectively
• Assist students with homework and support test preparation
• Assess student understanding and follow individualized learning plans
• Provide encouraging feedback to build student confidence
• Maintain a focused, positive learning environment
• Collaborate with the center director and fellow instructors to support overall student success

Qualifications

• Strong math skills across elementary, middle, and high school levels
• Comfort explaining core math concepts clearly
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills to engage students, families, and colleagues constructively
• Instructional and tutoring abilities, including patience, active listening, and a supportive teaching style
• Organizational and time-management skills to work with multiple students and follow structured learning plans
• Genuine interest in education, a positive attitude toward math, and the ability to motivate and encourage learners
• Relevant experience working with children or youth in educational, coaching, or mentoring settings is beneficial
• High school diploma or equivalent required; college-level coursework in math, education, or related fields is preferred
• Availability for after-school and weekend hours, and the ability to work on-site at the Clarksville TN center, are required
