About the role
Instructors are assigned specific courses to teach based on their specialty education and experience. This position is for Principles, Methods of Education, and other content areas as assigned. The person will teach didactic classes and student laboratories. The person is responsible for development of lecture content, laboratory exercises and student counseling.
Responsibilities
- Develops and maintains the course Principles and Methods of Education, and other content areas in the occupational therapy curriculum in accordance with national accreditation standards.
- Recruits qualified students into the program.
- Affords assistance in the management of clinical sites, including obtaining contracts, development of clinical experiences and evaluation methods.
- Instructs and assists in multiple courses in the program as assigned.
- Affords assistance in creating recruiting materials in conjunction with the Department and College.
- Develops and seeks outcomes assessments for courses taught.
- Interacts with existing programs in the department and teaches as assigned in these programs.
- Works on departmental, college and university committees.
- Performs other administrative tasks as assigned by the Department Chairperson.
Requirements
Required Job Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in applicable area to the profession.
- Current knowledge of accreditation standards for educational programs.
- Excellent skills in classroom and laboratory instruction.
- Knowledge and experience with Web-Based education.
- Excellent organization abilities in managing instructors, clinical sites and students.
- Excellent interpersonal and leadership abilities.
