About the role
Brightway Living & Learning is a non-profit provider of human services on Long Island, including educational, residential, day habilitation, and vocational programs. The position is located at Adult Day Services (ADS) program locations.
Responsibilities
- Take a leadership role in promoting and demonstrating the use of new technologies and media in day-to-day instruction
- Provide assistance and training to instructors in the integration of technology to support individual achievement
- Support the efforts of staff and individuals to achieve technological competencies and to integrate technology into the curriculum
- Collaborate and assist instructors with the use of instructional technology in the curriculum including co-planning, modeling lessons that use technology, supporting staff in the use of technology, and planning training sessions to ensure successful implementation
- Collaborate with instructors and support departments to implement educational technology and software into the curriculum, including assistive technologies
- Design, manage and evaluate resources for instruction and their implementation in the learning environment
- Regular visits to all ADS program locations
- Manage technology resources and ensure they are available as necessary, cleaned, repaired and properly used
- Maintain a running inventory of all ADS technology resources and equipment and Distribute hardware to programs as needed
- Manage ADS’s daily technology needs with AirWatch, PLEX, Zoom, MS Teams/365, Adobe Acrobat Professional etc.
- Work with Brightway IT Department on behalf of ADS instructional IT needs and issues including any external vendors as needed
- Update and maintain the designated areas for ADS on Brightway platforms including but not limited to the website, portal and social media
- Provide training and support to staff in the areas of instructional technology
- Act as the primary support for technology, troubleshooting issues and managing assets
- Collaborate with administrative team to determine develop the programs’ instructional technology capacities to best meet the needs of the individuals served and develop a strategic plan
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in educational technology, instructional design & technology, technology integration, or related field
- Knowledge of programming a range of devices: tablets/similar devices, smartboards, SMART technologies, instructional technology
- Basic technology problem solving skills
- Must possess good interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to prioritize and complete tasks independently
- Experience supporting people with developmental disabilities
- Reliable transportation to be able to travel between sites
Qualifications
- Must be able to lift/move/carry 15 lbs
- Must be able to kneel, twist and bend
- Must be able to use all office equipment in use in the assigned office
- Must be able to pull/retrieve/re-file files
Skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
- Knowledge of various instructional technologies and programming

Salaried, $62,400.00/year

Monday-Friday 8am-4pm
