Instructional System Specialist
About the role
This position is contingent upon contract award. Candidates must have an active Secret clearance and verify, before applying, that they meet the minimum requirements of the position.
Objective
Instructional Systems Specialists are responsible for the administration and supervision of educational or training services in formal education and training programs in support of customer and program objectives.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in education, psychology, or instructional system design/analysis or similar technical degree.
- 5 years’ experience in instructional systems analysis, design, and development.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
- Written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to read, interpret, organize, and synthesize source material into well-written, concise learning products.
- Familiar with the Authoring Instructional Material (AIM) IIF.
- Experience with content management systems – Content Planning Module (CPM), learning Management Systems (LMS), and Learning Assessment Systems (LAS).
- Experience in learning theories such as: Instructional System Design (ADDIE or similar), Andragogy, Bloom’s Taxonomy, Gagne’s Nine Events of Instruction, Collaborative Constructivist Learning, Problem-based Learning, Cognitive Theory of Multimedia Learning, Discovery Learning.
Additional duties
Select instructional media, materials, and equipment best suited to meet learning objectives. Plan and accomplish production of all instructional materials. Identify the relationship between training deficiencies and training system modification requirements. Additional duties as assigned.
Employment Status
- Full-time (40 hours per week).
- Salaried.
- Exempt.
Work Environment and Travel
This position is on site at Center for Information Warfare Training (CIWT) on-board Naval Station Corey Station, Pensacola, FL. Qualified candidates should be local to Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL, to be considered for this position.
Ability to lift items and/or equipment up to 50 lbs. on limited occasions. Travel up to 10% anticipated.
