Instructional Support Specialist
Location: Day Academy, Homestead, PA
About the role
Devereux/TCV Community Services provides programs and services for children with intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and dual diagnoses. This position supports the teacher’s direction by providing assistance with academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients. You will assist in the implementation of basic educational programming and perform duties as directed by the building administrator or classroom teacher, including individual tutoring or one-on-one support for students with special needs.
As an Instructional Support Specialist at Devereux/TCV, you will work with other dedicated professionals who share your passion for helping individuals in need.
Responsibilities
- Support teacher’s direction by assisting with academic, social, and behavioral needs of assigned clients
- Implement basic educational programming as directed by the building administrator or classroom teacher
- Provide individual tutoring or one-on-one support for students with special needs
Schedule
Enjoy a consistent daytime schedule of 35 hours per week, Monday through Friday, following the TCV Day Academy school calendar, including school breaks and holidays.
Qualifications
Education: Associate degree in a related discipline from an accredited school/college required.
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of experience working in a special education or behavioral healthcare setting with students with severe/complex behavioral/emotional issues.
Requirements
- Valid PA Driver’s License preferred
- State Criminal, Child Abuse, and FBI clearances required
- Flexible, patient, energetic, creative, and have a sense of humor
- Strong passion for working with and helping children with special needs

Pay
Hourly rate: $21.00
