Instructional-Math/Science Coach

About the role

This position focuses on student achievement by working with teachers to ensure high-fidelity implementations of research-based reading program(s) and scientifically-based reading strategies/practices at all elementary levels.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to implement research-based reading programs and scientifically-based reading strategies/practices at all elementary levels.
• Ensure high-fidelity implementations of reading programs and strategies.
• Facilitate professional development for teachers on reading strategies and research-based practices.

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• A valid Florida teaching certificate.
• Be certified in 6-12 mathematics for high school and/or 5-9 mathematics for middle school.
• A minimum of three years successful teaching experience.
• Demonstrated competency in knowledge of the Sunshine State Standards, scientifically-based mathematics research, exemplary practices in mathematics instruction and data analysis.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, administration, district staff, and the public.

Skills

• Ability to plan, organize, and direct activities for teachers.
• Experience in facilitating adult training.
