Instructional-Math Coach

About the role

This position focuses on student achievement by working with teachers to ensure quality implementation of research-based mathematics program(s) and scientifically-based mathematics strategies/practices at the secondary school level.

Responsibilities

• Work with teachers to implement research-based mathematics programs and strategies
• Ensure quality implementation of mathematics programs and strategies
• Facilitate professional development for teachers on mathematics instruction
• Evaluate teacher performance based on student achievement data
• Collaborate with other educators to improve mathematics education

Requirements

• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
• A valid Florida teaching certificate, and be certified in 6-12 mathematics for high school and/or 5-9 mathematics for middle school
• A minimum of three years successful teaching experience
• Demonstrated competency in knowledge of the Sunshine State Standards, scientifically-based mathematics research, exemplary practices in mathematics instruction and data analysis
• Ability to plan, organize, and direct activities for teachers
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with teachers, administration, district staff, and the public
