Instructional Lab Technician, Senior - Life Sciences
Responsibilities
- Cook up and conduct experiments, exercises and demonstrations.
- Construct, adapt or acquire specialized lab equipment to meet specific instruction or research needs.
- Provide technical assistance regarding pre- and post-experiment preparations and processes for Human Biology labs associated with General Education and Major courses.
- Maintain research facility in orderly, operable condition.
- Control and monitor supply inventories.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety standards of laboratory operations.
Requirements
- Training in Human Biology, Physiology, Nutrition or related field.
- Experience with testing human performance and conducting bio-assay/wet lab experiments involving biological samples.
- Experience working with research rodent.
- Experience in higher education, specifically working in laboratory environments.
- Ability to effectively lead lab safety procedures and compliance.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with proper use and maintenance of lab equipment.
Qualifications
- Preferred Qualifications: Training in Human Biology, Physiology, Nutrition or related field.

Pay
Hourly range: $30.16 - $34.40.

The largest and oldest of the USC schools, USC Dornsife functions as the academic core of the university, offering courses and advancing knowledge across the humanities, social sciences and natural sciences. Based on a divisional framework, Academic Services Hubs will provide staff support to approximately 35 departments across Dornsife. Each hub will serve one division and the number of departments per division varies. The mission of the Dornsife Academic Service Hubs is to provide optimal, localized support to academic departments by providing specialized services that foster the academic, instructional, and research-driven engagement of faculty, staff and students in the Dornsife community.
