About the role

We are seeking a skilled and collaborative Instructional Designer / Trainer to design, develop, and deliver foundational online and in-person training for critical program applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and deliver basic level training in accordance with programs/projects use of the ADDIE system of training.
  • Partner with managers and subject-matter experts (SME) to guide and direct support for the development of training plans, identify learning objectives for courses, and to identify and/or obtain sources of information for development of course material.
  • Gather information from application functional analysts, application owners, and/or subject matter experts to update lesson plans, practical exercises, learning objectives, handouts, and other materials.
  • Establish and maintain the connectivity of interactive online training via Microsoft Lync or similar technologies.
  • Update and maintain existing instructional materials such as lesson plans/curriculum, SOPs, learning objectives, user and instructor guides, handouts, practical exercises, and other necessary materials that are effective in assisting customer personnel and contractors attain the skills they require.
  • Facilitate training on more routine/basic IT applications and customer processes in team or independent settings.
  • Be prepared to deliver training outside of the normal working hours to meet customer scheduling needs.
  • Actively participate in peer review sessions and offer constructive comments with the intent of improving the team's products and services.
  • Support team ideas and initiatives that contribute to the success of the customer program/project.
  • Participate in the identification, execution, and evaluation of basic/routine projects to advance the appropriate uses of technology-enhanced learning, including simulation, augmented reality, online modalities, active learning, app-based learning, etc.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of instructional design methodologies, adult learning principles, and curriculum effectiveness metrics.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Familiarity with e-Learning development and authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline/Rise, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia) and web conferencing software.
  • Familiarity with Section 508 accessibility compliance requirements for digital learning materials.
  • Strong time-management and organizational skills with the ability to manage timelines, scope resources, and handle multiple tasks autonomously.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with rigorous attention to grammatical precision and clear articulation.

  • Active DoD Secret Clearance (Required)
  • Location Constraint: Must live within a 50-mile radius of San Antonio, TX or Washington, D.C.

Benefits

Salary Dependent on experience+ location $53k-90k
