Instructional Designer

About the role

The Instructional Designer supports the Center for Security Forces (CENSECFOR) with the planning, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of training course documents. This role also involves providing administrative management support.

Responsibilities

• Read, adhere to, and follow CENSECFORINST 1540.1, CENSECFORINST 1540.4, and NAVEDTRA 142 policies and procedures.
• Develop training course documentation and products, including:
  • Training Project Plans (TPPs)
  • Course Training Task List (CTTL)
  • Training Course Control Document (TCCD)
  • Lesson Plans
  • Student Guides
  • AI-assisted Testing Materials
• Design instructional components, including sequencing and clustering of learning events and objectives, task learning relationships, and instructional design plans.
• Utilize a variety of training products to provide learning solutions, including formal curricula, interactive courseware, job aids, and computer-based training (CBT) programs.
• Develop measurable learning objectives, create Course Outlines of Instruction, and document Instructional Strategies.
• Evaluate developed training through focus groups and course pilots.
• Have experience in SharePoint site development, automation, and administration.
• Be proficient in Power Automate for workflow automation.
• Be experienced in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software (Premiere, After Effects).

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills Required

• Associates Degree in an Instructional Design, Curriculum & Instruction, or Educational Technology discipline with at least one (1) year of experience in an education, training, or curriculum development role.
• High School Diploma or GED with at least five (5) years’ experience in a training development or education role.
• Experience with AI-assisted tools to support instructional design, content development, data analysis, or curriculum quality assurance.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ experience using Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Excel.
• Experience in all phases of the instruction systems design process (planning, analyzing, designing, implementing, evaluation, and maintenance).
• Possess, or be able to obtain, a security clearance up to the Secret level.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in SharePoint site development, automation, and administration.

• Experience in Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite, and video editing software (Premiere, After Effects).

Physical and Environmental Requirements

May be required to use computer screen for extensive periods of time. Extended working hours and travel may be necessary.
