About the Opportunity

The Instructional Design and Development Coordinator is responsible for designing and developing online and hybrid training programs for members, providers, and staff. This role also manages the learning management system (My Learning Campus), ensuring its effective operation, integration, and user support. The position contributes by enhancing learning experiences and supporting organizational training goals.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, operate, monitor, and support the corporate learning management system (LMS) to ensure peak accessibility and functional performance
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for tier-1 and tier-2 LMS support, coordinating technical troubleshooting and resolving platform glitches
  • Manage complete LMS operations, including course deployment, complex curriculum pathway creation, user group configurations, and ongoing catalog maintenance
  • Monitor software system performance, user engagement activity, and operational data quality, presenting data-driven recommendations for process improvements
  • Develop, test, and maintain automated LMS API data integrations with core HRIS, provider portals, and external business platforms
  • Ensure all LMS system architectures, user configurations, and taxonomies natively support compliance workflows, automated reporting, and intuitive user experiences
  • Design, author, and develop interactive digital learning content and coursework grounded in adult learning theories and instructional design models
  • Evaluate, re-engineer, and update existing training materials to maximize learner engagement, retention, and universal section 508 web accessibility standards
  • Collaborate with cross-functional subject matter experts to design original instructional graphics, simulations, and multimedia learning assets
  • Generate detailed training compliance reports, attendance summaries, and certification audits for management and regulatory review

Requirements

  • Minimum baseline educational and professional experience combination matrix:
    • A High School Diploma or GED paired with a minimum of six (6) years of related professional experience, OR
    • An Associate’s degree paired with a minimum of four (4) years of related professional experience, OR
    • A Bachelor’s degree paired with a minimum of two (2) years of related professional experience, OR
    • An equivalent structured combination of technical education and active workspace experience
  • Strong linguistic or development preference for candidates with a documented background authoring or translating educational content fluently in Spanish
  • Possession of a valid driver’s license and verified continuous physical residence within the organization's designated North Carolina service counties
  • Full operational ability and willingness to travel regionally within the active service area for designated workshops or localized team events
  • Advanced proficiency with professional eLearning authoring tools (such as Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Instructional Technology, Instructional Design, Information Technology, or Business Administration
    • Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle technical project implementations or enterprise LMS platform administration
    • Creative mastery of the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) for premium asset development
    • Advanced experience writing database queries, compiling SQL reports, or building interactive system compliance dashboards

Pay Range and Compensation Package

The target annual base salary range is $56,270.00 to $69,898.00 USD. Final placement within this public health salary structure is determined dynamically based on the final applicant's exact educational tier, platform certifications, and verified years of instructional experience.
