About the role
The Instructional Content Specialist designs, develops, and oversees training programs and content that align with organizational goals and learner needs. This role collaborates with subject matter experts, manages projects from concept to delivery, and ensures course materials are accurate, engaging, and up-to-date.
Responsibilities
- Create and oversee all curriculum including programming changes and additions
- Work closely with subject matter experts to identify what participants need to learn
- Independently develop and manage courseware, and be responsible for overseeing projects
- Coordinate with subject matter experts during the development stage to ensure consistency and cohesiveness throughout the content
- Coordinate with task owners to ensure projects meet milestones and deadlines
- Plan and organize organizational and project management tasks
- Revise, rewrite, and review course content and supporting instructional materials for accuracy
- Implement and coordinate virtual training offerings
- Develop training media such as training videos and webinars to be delivered separately from eLearning content
- Identify new and current training offerings to determine if any professional development hours can be offered
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure functionality of equipment and technology used for training efforts
- Instill program sustainability and lead efforts for course recognition or accreditation where appropriate with governing bodies and organizations
- Maintain current knowledge of instructional design theory, adult learning methodologies, and instructional trends to maximize learning and performance
- Proactively seek solutions and enhancements to training courses and content
- Evaluate the effectiveness of the current training programs and support and make improvements as necessary
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, communication, education, or equivalent from a four-year college, university, or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Three to four years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Prior experience with 360, Articulate, Adobe Captivate, and Lucid
- Experience with LMS administration
