Instructional Coach

About the role

The Instructional Coach at New Story Schools supports teachers in improving their instructional practices through collaborative, student-centered coaching. This role focuses on building educator capacity, promoting high-quality instruction, and supporting positive outcomes for all learners.

Responsibilities

• Coach teachers using observation, modeling, dialogue, and co-teaching practices
• Support alignment of instruction with standards, curriculum, and assessments
• Promote inclusive, engaging, student-centered learning environments
• Provide professional development to increase educator effectiveness
• Collaborate with school leaders to analyze data and support improvement planning

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in special education or a related field
• Valid Pennsylvania Instructional II Special Education certification
• Experience supporting instructional practice through coaching or mentoring
• Strong knowledge of standards-based instruction and curriculum alignment
• Able to build trust through non-evaluative, collaborative relationships

Qualifications

• Master’s degree preferred
• Experience working with students with autism and other disabilities
• Experience with evidence-based practices in special education

Skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to facilitate reflective conversations
• Knowledge of educational technology and its integration into instruction

Pay

Compensation is commensurate with experience.
