About the role
This position provides support and assists in coordinating instructional programs relating to special education students and their Individual Education Plans (IEP).
Maintains an environment conducive to learning.
Responsibilities
- Makes sure the classroom is a safe and healthy place for all students.
- Aids teachers in planning and organizing lessons, ensuring materials are ready for each lesson.
- Supports teachers in implementing students' behavioral intervention plans.
- Assists in the use of assistive technology and augmentative communication devices.
- Compiles, maintains, and files reports and documents, maintaining confidentiality.
- Participates in the district's staff development program and continues professional growth.
- Coordinates and assists with student transitions between classes.
- Provides support for students with special health care needs, including personal hygiene, mobility, feeding, and adaptive equipment.
- Applies CPI skills to support students.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience working with or assisting individuals with special needs.
- CPR and First Aid certification.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps.
- Working knowledge of successful instructional delivery methods.
- Ability to protect confidential information.

$18.00 - $22.00 per hour, based on experience and qualifications.
