About the role

This advanced journey-level technical instructional assistant provides specialized behavioral support to students with disabilities across the school district, focusing on students exhibiting high behavioral needs, such as physical aggression, elopement, inappropriate language, property destruction, and communication challenges. The role involves mentoring and training other instructional assistants and supporting teachers in implementing behavior plans and instructional strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor and train other instructional assistants
  • Support teachers in implementing behavior plans and instructional strategies
  • Provide specialized behavioral support to students with disabilities
  • Focus on students exhibiting high behavioral needs such as physical aggression, elopement, inappropriate language, property destruction, and communication challenges

Requirements / Qualifications

  • MUST ATTACH PROOF OF: - Passing the CBEST, or - Having completed two years of college (48 units), or - An AA degree or higher, or - Must have passed the District proficiency exam in mathematics, reading, and writing prior to the job posting closing date.
