About the role

At Grafton Integrated Health Network, we're dedicated to helping individuals overcome barriers to lead meaningful, fulfilling lives. As an Instructional Assistant in our Education program, you'll play a crucial role in supporting clients' educational and residential goals.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver accurate medication administration and ensure client safety.
  • Support client health and hygiene, adhering to infection control procedures.
  • Implement and modify teaching techniques based on client progress and treatment plans.
  • Assess and document client behavior and participation in programming.
  • Provide supervision, crisis management, and transportation services.
  • Collaborate with the treatment team to maintain continuity of care.
  • Build trust and respect with clients, promoting their well-being and success.
  • Manage behavioral crises safely and implement supportive solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with guardians, agency personnel, and visitors.
  • Maintain a clean and organized living and learning environment.
  • Promote good nutrition and assist with meal preparation.
  • Ensure compliance with site management responsibilities and financial accountability.

Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in human services or an associate's degree and 3 months experience working with children.
  • A high school diploma or GED with 6 months’ experience working with children.
  • A valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
  • A criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
  • Passionate about providing compassionate and clinical care.
  • Basic computer skills, including logging in, navigating the web, starting and saving documents in Microsoft Word, and basic keyboarding.

Qualifications

  • Age 19 or older.
  • Knowledge of the client's strengths, needs, abilities, and preferences, as well as treatment strategies from their current Plans (Treatment Plan, IEP, ISP).
  • Ability to actively instruct clients to achieve their educational and residential goals.
  • Proficiency in using technology, including logging in, navigating the web, and basic document creation in Microsoft Word.

Skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and crisis management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care principles.

Pay and Schedule

$17.00-$22.00 per hour, based on experience.

Part-time/PRN schedule available.
