Instructional Assistant - PreK Gen Ed

Purpose

Aid students, individually or in small groups, with classroom work, assignments, projects, or other activities as directed by the classroom teacher. Informally assess students' knowledge of basic skills and material. Collaborate with and report to the classroom teacher.

Qualifications

• Completion of two years of study (60+ hours) at an institution of higher education or possession of an associate's (or higher) degree is preferred.
• Previous experience as a classroom assistant desirable.
• Candidates must have a sincere interest in working with students in the learning process.
• Effective communication skills.
• Ability to take direction.
• Initiative and dependability in carrying out assignments.
• Patience and genuine interest in education of students.
• Awareness and respect for student diversity.
• Clerical skills, flexibility, and confidentiality required.
