Instructional Assistant Mild/Mod I PT

About the role

Under the general supervision of the special education teachers; the special education teacher assistant supports the implementation of student IEP's (Individualized Education Programs) by assisting the teacher in five areas of service: instructional support, management and supervision support, personal support, assessment support and materials management.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in how to use Canvas, Zoom, Google Suite, and other technologies to thrive in a virtual learning environment.
• Effectively communicate with students and parents using a variety of technologies including Zoom, phone, and email.

Requirements

• Work location is in-person.
• Must have a demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with students and parents using a variety of technologies including Zoom, phone, and email.
• Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department. Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment.

Qualifications

• Additional training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 4 upon completion.

Pay
