Instructional Assistant Mild/Mod I PT

About the role

The Special Education Classroom Aide supports the instructional program for students by assisting the Special Education teacher in providing a supportive, inclusive, and effective learning environment for students with special needs, at varying levels of need. This role involves working closely with students to support their individual learning and social development. Time will be spent between the special education/resource classroom and general education classrooms.

Schedule

25 hours per week

Training

• Must complete Basic Training (5 hours) provided by JSD Special Education Department
• Training must be completed within one week of hire as a condition of employment
• Additional training is available through the Special Education department allowing the employee to increase to lane 4 upon completion

Pay

Lane 3 Step 1 ($19.94/Hour) – Effective July 1, 2026
