About the Role
This position is for a 9-month, 5 hours per day assignment in a Resource Room program at Glen C. Taylor Elementary School.
Responsibilities
- Assists a certificated teacher in providing instruction to individual or small groups of students in a resource room setting
- Reinforces skills introduced by the teacher
- Assists with classroom management
- May assist with data collection and record keeping related to student progress
- Supports students with special needs in accessing the general education curriculum
- Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of the position
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must meet Highly Qualified requirements through one of the following:
- Possess an Associate's degree or higher
- Complete two years of college study (48 semester credits)
- Pass the ETS ParaPro Assessment with a score of 455 or higher
- Experience working with children preferred

- Ability to work effectively with students with diverse learning needs
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
- Basic computer skills
- Patience and flexibility in working with students
Pay
Salary range: $16.00 - $20.36 per hour (depending on experience and qualifications)
Schedule
5 hours per day, 9-month position (school-year calendar)
