About the role

Direct Support Professionals in our Education program participate in the direct care and plan implementation for clients, assisting the Academic Teacher in various activities.
Responsibilities
- Deliver medications accurately and on time.
- Ensure the well-being and safety of clients.
- Support client health and hygiene.
- Utilize infection control procedures.
- Report serious incidents and implement follow-up measures.
- Implement behavior strategies and teach alternative behaviors.
- Collect and document behavioral and instructional data.
- Maintain a high level of engagement and monitoring of clients.
- Provide a supportive and solution-focused environment.
- Manage behavioral crises safely.
- Collaborate with the Treatment Team for continuity of support and care.
- Exhibit exemplary customer service with guardians, agency personnel, and visitors.
- Ensure a safe and organized residence/classroom environment.
- Promote good nutrition and assist with meal preparation in group homes.
- Provide transportation/community mobility.
- Absorb and contribute to team discussions and decisions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in human services; or an associate's degree and 3 months experience working with children; or a high school diploma/GED and 6 months experience working with children.
- Must be 19 years of age.
- Pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Demonstrate moderate computer skills.

Pay
$17 up to $22 commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Schedule
Shift differentials apply based on hours worked.
