About the role
This position supports the Resource Room program and assists in providing instructional support to students under the direction of licensed staff.
Responsibilities
- Work with individual or small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher
- Assist in the implementation of instructional plans and activities
- Support students with special needs in the classroom setting
- Help maintain classroom materials and equipment
- Assist with student supervision and behavior management
- Perform clerical duties as needed to support classroom operations
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment or meet the highly qualified requirements under the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA)
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or childcare setting
Qualifications
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Patience and flexibility in working with diverse student populations
- Basic computer and technology skills
- Ability to follow written and oral instructions
Pay
$15.78 per hour
Schedule
9 months per year, 5 hours per day
