About the role

The position is available at multiple sites within the San Juan Unified School District. There is one opening for a part-time Elementary Instructional Assistant.

Responsibilities

• Previous experience working with groups of children.
• Instructional Assistant II: Running small groups, assisting students in large groups, supporting teachers in Special Day Class settings or General Education, and supporting the teacher's needs.
• Instructional Assistant III: Supporting severe/emotionally disturbed students, working with students who have Learning Handicap or Communicative Handicap, and working with groups of children; experience with impaired children or adults highly desirable; coursework in child development highly desirable.

Qualifications

• IA I: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• IA II: Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam or Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• IA III: Passing score from San Juan Unified School District's Proficiency Exam or Official passing score from the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST), OFFICIAL transcripts demonstrating the completion of two years of college (48 semester/60 quarter units), or Proof of an A.A. degree (or higher).

Benefits

• Salary range: (IA II) $18.58 - $24.47 CSEA General Unit Salary Schedule.
• Length of work day: 6 hours.
• Work hours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 AM - 3:30 PM.
