About the role

Location: Rio Americano HS. 1 opening. Permanent, part‑time Instructional Assistant II – 1:1 Support for mild/moderate needs. Contact: Isabel Vargas, Personnel Technician (isabel.vargas@sanjuan.edu).

Responsibilities

• Run small groups.
• Assist students in large groups in Special Day Class and General Education settings.
• Support teacher’s needs.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Either a passing score on the San Juan Unified School District Proficiency Exam (test date April 2005‑present) or an official passing score on the California Basic Educational Skills Test (CBEST).
• If educated outside the U.S., coursework must be evaluated for U.S. equivalency.
• Willingness to obtain a valid California Class C Driver License within 30 days of hire if required for equipment/vehicle operation.

Qualifications

Any combination of experience and training that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of an Instructional Assistant II supporting students with mild/moderate needs.
