Instructional Assistant, Automotive (3 positions)

Essential Job Functions

Oversees and performs work in the internal and external maintenance, grounds, upkeep, and cleaning of three facilities.

Provides guidance and supervision to part-time maintenance worker.

Serves as liaison to Property Management in processing of work orders.

Responds to facility emergencies after hours when needed.

Maintains equipment in good working order and performs repairs as needed.

Maintains inventory of all related supplies for agency.

Uses computer to prepare reports and correspondence; utilizes Property Management work order software and tracking inventory.

Writes monthly report to document work status and areas of concern.

Ensures the safe and proper operation of trades tools and power equipment; adheres to prescribed safety standards and regulatory requirements.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED preferred; supplemented by two to three years progressively skilled experience in one or more of the trades disciplines, e.g., painting, carpentry, pump-mechanical, plumbing, electrical, heating/air-conditioning (HVAC); or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.

Supplemental Information

• Salary Grade: 43
• Status: Non-exempt
• Schedule: 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with overtime as needed
• Physical requirements: Heavy Demands; Regularly required to lift, move or carry objects between 50 to 100 pounds
