About the role
The El Dorado County Office of Education is seeking an Instructional Assistant- Autism - Special Services Program. This position is open year-round with no specific application deadline, serving the El Dorado Hills to Camino region. It is part of an eligibility list for current and future openings.
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one or small-group instruction to students with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD).
- Present instructional material.
- Complete routine clerical duties.
- Knowledge of and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), TEACCH, and other methods of instruction commonly used with students who have ASD.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Experience working with children in an educational or other structured setting, preferably with students with disabilities.
- Successful completion of the EDCOE Instructional Assistant-Autism exam.
- A high school diploma or equivalent, and two years of college (48 units), or an A.A. degree (or higher).
- Training in Applied Behavioral Analysis Techniques, TEACCH Techniques, and behavior management strategies.
