Instructional Assistant

Job Summary Shawswick Elementary School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Instructional Assistant to support our educators in fostering a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. This part-time position involves assisting teachers in implementing instructional activities, managing classroom behavior, and providing individualized support to students. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about education, possess strong communication skills, and demonstrate a commitment to helping students succeed. Responsibilities Assist teachers in the delivery of instructional materials and activities. Support students in understanding and completing assignments. Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers. Help maintain a positive and organized classroom environment. Supervise students during classroom activities, lunch, and recess. Assist in the preparation of instructional materials and classroom displays. Implement behavior management strategies to promote a respectful learning atmosphere. Collaborate with teachers and staff to identify and address individual student needs. Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities as required. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree or higher in education or related field preferred. Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is a plus. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude towards students and education. Basic computer skills and familiarity with educational technology. Ability to pass background checks and comply with school district policies.
