Instructional Assistant
About the role
The successful applicant will assist teachers in preparing and performing specific activities, work with individuals, small groups, or large groups assigned and monitored by the teacher, escort students to various activities, plan with students for class activities, assist in modifying student behavior, and monitor students during assigned periods.
Responsibilities
- Aid in preparing and performing specific activities as directed by teachers.
- Work with individuals, small groups, or large groups as assigned and monitored by teachers.
- Escort students to various activities as directed by teachers or administrators.
- Plan with students for class activities under the direction of teachers.
- Assist teachers in modifying student behavior.
- Maintain classroom order and monitor students during assigned periods.
Requirements
- Must have completed the ParaPro Assessment or have at least two years of college education.
- Must complete the Autism Spectrum Disorder for Paraprofessionals course online.
- Must possess the ability to represent the school division with high standards and ethics.
- Must be able to exert moderate physical effort, including stooping, kneeling, crouching, pulling, pushing, and carrying objects and materials of moderate weight.

They must also demonstrate flexibility in work requirements, efficient multitasking, and positive representation of the division in various settings.

Pay
The salary range is commensurate with experience, ranging from $24,400 to $34,159, with a 10-month, 185 contract days schedule.
