QUALIFICATIONS:
- Command of the English language
- Knowledge of pertinent academic areas and learning situations
- General needs and behaviors of students and students' recreational activities involving sports, games, arts and crafts
- Ability to understand and relate to the needs of high school students
- Learn the requirements of students in specific learning programs to which assigned
- Analyze situations accurately and adopt an effective course of action
- Supervise students in a variety of situations
- Establish and maintain accurate classroom records and files
- Operate standard office equipment including computer keyboarding, copy machines, tape recorders and projectors
- Maintain calm and patience in stressful situations
- Understand and carry out oral and written instructions
- Establish and maintain cooperative work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties
- Clerical experience and work involving the supervision of students is desirable
DUTIES OF POSITION:
- Assist a certificated teacher in the instruction, supervision and training of an individual or group of students
- Provide a variety of instructional support, student care activities, and related duties in the maintenance of an effective learning environment
- Under supervision, provide a variety of responsible instructional support activities to enhance the educational environment within the district
- Require a high degree of positive contact with both students and certificated staff
STARTING SALARY: $2,204.90 (monthly)
NUMBER OF MONTHS: 9.4
NUMBER OF HOURS: 6 (daily working hours 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.)
