About the Role
The campus Title I Instructional Aide assists school staff with accelerated student instruction to facilitate the achievement of the school’s goals.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Valid Texas Instructional Aide Certificate or ability to obtain upon hire
- Must meet one of the following criteria:
- Associate's degree, OR
- 48 credit hours from an accredited institution of higher learning
Skills
- Ability to work well with children, parents, and school staff
- Ability to use/learn basic computer applications
- Knowledge of general office equipment
- Effective communication skills (written and verbal) in English
- Ability to speak Spanish (preferred)
Responsibilities
- Work with individual students or small groups to conduct instructional activities as assigned
- Maintain confidentiality of information
- Assist in maintaining a neat and orderly work environment
- Assist in supervising students throughout the school day as needed
- Assist in the maintenance of administrative records and preparation of reports as required
- Assist in inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment as assigned
- Assist in preparing materials/displays for instruction or campus operations
- Participate in staff development programs, faculty meetings, and special events, as required
- Other duties as assigned
Equipment Used
- Regular use of complex machines and equipment (desktop/laptop computer and software, presentation equipment, copy machines, etc.)
- Intermediate skill in Data Entry, Database, Presentation, Spreadsheet, Word Processing/Typing
- Google suite of applications
- Video conferencing technology
Physical / Environmental Factors
- Must maintain emotional control and exercise reasoning and problem-solving skills while under stress
- Must demonstrate the ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written)
- Occasional prolonged and irregular hours
- May occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds
- Perform all duties in a safe and responsible manner
- Observe all safety precautions
