Instructional Aide - Special Education (Weslaco Campus)

Job Summary

The Instructional Aide - Special Education position at Horizon Montessori Public Schools is available at the Weslaco Campus. This position supports students with special educational needs under the supervision of certified teachers.

Responsibilities

• Assist students in completing assignments and participating in class activities
• Support students with individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Provide additional support to students in areas such as behavior management, communication, and social skills
• Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other staff members to ensure the success of students

Requirements

• A high school diploma or equivalent
• Experience working with individuals with special needs is preferred but not required
• Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues
• Valid Texas driver’s license and reliable transportation

Qualifications

• Knowledge of special education principles and practices
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills

Skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to use assistive technology as needed
