Instructional Aide (Online Services Support)

About the role

This position requires an individual to assist with the continued education of students in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The role may also involve substituting in multiple classes and/or subjects.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates individualized learning in an open-enrollment environment using the regular classroom teacher’s lesson plan(s).
• Follows curriculum guidelines or requirements of the state and school.
• Maintains confidentiality of all student information.
• Maintains discipline in the classroom and follows school discipline procedures.
• Performs other duties as assigned or requested.

Requirements

• High School Diploma (required).
• Bachelor’s Degree (preferred).
• Teaching Certification (preferred).
• Previous experience that includes teaching, classroom management, and working with at-risk adolescents in an alternative education setting.

Working Conditions

• Work will predominantly be indoors, but outdoor work may occur.
• Working conditions may involve exposure to both heat and cold.
• Job requires bending, lifting up to 50 pounds, reaching overhead, twisting, and sitting on the floor.
• Work environment may include indoor, outdoor, and field trip settings.
• Work under fast-paced, loud, and stressful conditions.
• Some local travel may be required.
