About the role
Under the supervision of the site administrator and the direction of a certificated staff member, performs the necessary duties to assist in the planning and implementation of a program for the regular and special needs of children in the classroom.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Assists in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Works well with children.
- Communicates effectively.
- Has experience or education in child development.
Education/Certification
- Associate's degree, two years of study at an institute of higher learning, or meet formal academic assessment required by No Child Left Behind Act.
- CPR training.
Special Knowledge/Skills
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics.
- Ability to work well with children.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Experience working in an instructional environment.
- Experience or education in the areas of child development.
Special Requirements
- Pre-placement medical assessment.
- TB clearance.
- Fingerprint clearance.
Salary
Range 8, $17.33 - $21.64 per hour based on 10 steps. (Additional $0.32 in lieu of benefits).

The applicant selected will be required to successfully complete a pre-placement medical assessment, TB clearance, and fingerprint clearance before being hired as a probationary employee.
