Key Responsibilities
35% – Information Literacy Participate in the information literacy program Libraries & Museums Teach library skills and deliver course-integrated instruction Design and teach workshops Create instructional materials (online and print)
25% – Research Support Provide research and reference assistance to faculty, staff, students, and community members
20% – Faculty Collaboration Serve as a liaison to academic departments and campus groups Social Sciences Support collection development Collaborate on accreditation reports, curriculum development, and scholarly communications Promote data management services Develop initiatives in partnership with faculty and students
10% – Committee Service Serve on university, library, and departmental committees Mentor student groups and participate in campus events
10% – Professional Development Engage in professional growth Maintain awareness of best practices in research, teaching, engagement, and scholarly communications
Qualifications
ALA-accredited master’s degree in library/information science (conferred by appointment date) or equivalent
Experience providing instruction or research assistance in a library setting
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to work with diverse populations
Understanding of trends and best practices in information literacy
Professional experience in an academic library
Background in teaching/research support related to government, political science, international relations, or related fields
Demonstrated initiative in building faculty/student-centered programs
Experience with partnerships and innovation in library services
Preferred Qualifications
Willingness to develop expertise in government and international relations librarianship
Conditions of Employment
May require occasional evening, weekend, or holiday work
On-site presence is required; telework possible once per week
