About the role

This position supports the parole release process by assisting with interviews, preparing reports, coordinating documentation, and maintaining accurate records. Daily responsibilities help ensure that inmates are released according to law, policy, and investigative findings.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare release documents, maintain interview dockets, and ensure required steps are completed before release
  • Meet with inmates to explain parole procedures, gather information, and provide required notifications
  • Examine misconduct reports, criminal histories, movement sheets, and other records to support case decisions
  • Scan files, update docket systems, maintain folders, and upload documents for board review
  • Answer calls, relay information, respond to messages, and assist staff, applicants, and family members
  • Open, sort, date stamp, and distribute incoming mail and prepare outgoing correspondence

Qualifications

  • Four years of experience as a Clerical Assistant 2 in the Department of Corrections or Probation and Parole Board (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • One year of complex clerical experience
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • You must meet the PA residency requirement
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions

Schedule

Full-time employment, 40 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
