Institutional Food Preparation Instructor

About the Role

Full-time Faculty Members are professional educators whose primary responsibility is to provide a quality education for Central Arizona College students. Faculty members perform instruction-related and other duties in accordance with the college's philosophy, vision, mission, policies, and procedures. The role involves teaching, mentoring, facilitating, and evaluating student learning. The instructor will teach 15 to 20 inmate/students at the Arizona State Prison - Florence Complex. The position is supported and funded through the Arizona Department of Corrections, with a history of contract renewal.

Responsibilities

• Manage shop equipment and an instructional classroom.
• Teach a variety of Food Preparation courses, including Hospitality, Nutrition, ServSafe Certification, Dining and Beverage, Institutional Food Service, Food and Kitchen Management, Culinary Arts, and Baking.
• Handle class responsibilities such as attendance, student projects, monitoring student progress, and curriculum development.
• Perform other specific duties related to the assigned Arizona Department of Corrections unit.

Qualifications

• Recognized certification as a ServSafe instructor.
• At least five (5) years of directly related occupational experience in fields such as Culinary Arts, Institutional Food Preparation, Commercial Food Preparation, Basic Nutrition, Hospitality, and Food and Kitchen Management.

Special Position Conditions

• Applicant must pass and maintain Arizona Department of Corrections security clearance.
• Must obtain and keep a State of Arizona Contractor Clearance ID.

Pay

Entry salary is $66,866.40. Placement above the minimum may be considered up to $82,285.00, dependent upon education and experience.
