Check for duplication: Responsibilities includes proficient in hand tools and driver's license etc. Skills also repeats proficient in hand tools and communication. That duplicates. We should avoid duplication. Perhaps move tool proficiency and driver license to Requirements or Qualifications, and keep Skills for communication only. Let's adjust.
We have Requirements already includes driver's license. We could move tool proficiency to Skills? But we already have Skills for communication. Let's restructure:
- Responsibilities: essential functions (install/repair/service, diagnose, produce reports, other duties). Not include tool proficiency or driver license there.
- Skills: proficient in hand tools, ability to communicate effectively.
- Requirements: education, age, construction experience, driver's license, ability to operate motor vehicle.
- Qualifications: ability to assemble items, mechanical skills, work independently, follow instructions.
Let's rewrite.
Responsibilities list:
- Install, repair, and service all products sold to customers.
- Diagnose errors or technical issues and determine proper solutions.
- Produce service reports as needed.
- Other duties assigned by management.
Skills list:
- Proficient in all hand tools, including impacts, drills, and levels.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
Requirements list:
- High School Diploma; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Construction experience a plus.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a motor vehicle.
Qualifications list:
- Ability to assemble items and use tools.
- Mechanical skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Able to follow instructions and take directions from crew chiefs and management.
Now ensure we didn't miss any substantive info: The essential functions also included "Proficient in all hand tools, including impacts, drills, and levels." and "Must be able to operate a motor vehicle and have a valid driver’s license." and "Be able to communicate effectively with both internal and external customers." Those are now in Skills and Requirements. Good.
We also have "Supervisory Responsibilities The position will not have direct reports." That's a statement; could be included under Responsibilities maybe as a note, but it's not a duty. Could be omitted? It's substantive but not a responsibility. Could be placed under About the role or Responsibilities as a note. Since we have no specific heading for supervisory, we could add a line under Responsibilities: "The position will not have direct reports." As a list item.
Add to Responsibilities: "The position will not have direct reports."
Also "Work environment" description: construction environment, noise, dust, activity, moderate noise, must travel, on site at least 14 days continuously. Some of that is covered in Schedule (travel length) and maybe we could add a note under About the role or Schedule. But we already have Schedule covering travel length and on-site continuous. Work environment details about noise, dust, activity could be omitted? It's substantive. Could be added under About the role as a sentence. Let's incorporate: "While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in a construction environment where typical levels of noise, dust, and activity can be expected. The noise level in this work environment is usually moderate." That's substantive. Add to About the role paragraph.
Physical Demands: regularly required to sit and talk or hear; frequently required to stand, walk, use hands, reach; occasionally lift/move >50 lbs. This is substantive. Could be added under About the role or a new section? There's no heading for Physical Demands. Could add to About the role or maybe under Requirements? But it
